Comfort in a Crisis

I’ve noticed there are a lot of things going on in our church family lately.  Stress, illness, big decisions, exams… it’s all happening.

I think one of the really special things about the churches in our Circuit is the overwhelming gift of hospitality that each congregation possesses.  We are really good at looking after people- and that’s actually pretty rare these days.  What a special thing God has given us, and what a blessing it is to serve in that way!

Maybe you’re feeling surrounded by stress at the moment, or maybe you’re watching someone you care about go through it.  Either way, here’s a bit of inspiration for us all:

11 Ways to Comfort In A Crisis

If you would like to help respond to needs around us, or have ideas about services and events we could organise for families- or any other ideas, please think about joining the new Circuit Family Ministry Team.  Get in touch with me if you’d like to know more about it (but please do it soon- I disappear at the end of May!)

Confession Time…

I came across the following blog post the other day and immediately, thought, ‘Yep.  Been there.’  I think, no matter what age our children are, if we admit it we’ve all had Sunday mornings which ended up more of a frustration than a blessing.

What I love about this article is how the mum has decided to turn difficult Sunday mornings right back round and make them a special, spiritual time once again.  Have a look!

What do you think?

(And if you feel the need, ask one of our ministers how you can make your own ‘dog collar’ from a washing up liquid bottle.  They’ve all done it!)
