The Parable of the 11 Talents

Last month, young people at Rock Solid explored the story of the ten talents in Luke 19.

Then a brave leader entrusted each of them with a £1 coin, and asked them to go and raise money for charity.

These extraordinary young people rose to the challenge.  Some washed cars, others made cards, cakes and jewellery.  They used their original coin to purchase the materials they needed and within a month, the group had turned £11 into £170!

The money raised will be donated to a charity of the group’s choice.

1 Timothy 4:12-  Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

What’s Rock Solid?  A group for ten to fourteen-year-olds which meets on Wednesday nights (during term time) at Waddington Methodist Church.  The group is an ecumenical partnership with the Methodist Church and St. Helen, Waddington.  Contact Rachel Dodd if you or a young person you know would like to come along.
